OOO ONH-Engineering expanding licensed technologies portfolio: exclusive rights to licensed process of ethylbenzene production on high-reactive and environmentally-safe zeolite catalyst are acquired.
On November 27, leading Russian scientific organizations TIPS RAS, Elektrogorsk Institute of Petroleum Refining on one part and OOO Orgneftekhim-Engineering on the other part entered into agreement.
Under this agreement OOO Orgneftekhim-Engineering acquires exclusive rights to licensing the only domestic process that allows to produce ethylbenzene by alkylation of benzene with ethylene on zeolite catalyst by TIPS RAS on the territory of former USSR.
Full cycle of performance tests was done on said process zeolite catalysts on pilot units of Elektrogorsk Institute of Petroleum Refining. The results of the tests show that this technology ensures both high yield of ethylbenzenу (99,7%) and high conversion rate of ethylene (99-100%).
At the moment commercial production of ethylbenzene on zeolite catalyst is carried out by OAO Salavatnefteorgsitez Bashkortostan. From the start of operation (2013) and up to now the unit produces ethylbenzene of the quality that fully complies with the requirements of styrene – monomer production when producing polystyrene of different grades. Also technical and commercial proposal is prepared for one of the Russian companies on establishing ethylbenzene production on zeolite catalyst with capacity 300 kt/y and 370 kt/y in terms of ethylbenzene.
License agreement execution became an important milesone in the process of industrialization of one more domestic competitive process driven by OOO Orgneftekhim-Engineering which is acting like a center for scientific knowledge accumulation for the purpose of its practical realization. The company is a member of OOO “Orgneftekhim-Holding” group, a large domestic engineering, construction and service group implementing projects in the fields of oil refining, chemistry and mineral fertilizers production in the Russian Federation, being also a leader in the promotion and implementation of domestic high-end technologies and products
The signing of the license agreement has crowned the works on the establishment of a domestic process licensor, center of scientific knowledge accumulation for the purpose of its practical implementation and introduction into the industry, namely OOO Orgneftekhim-Engineering. This company is a member of Orgneftekhim-Holding (ONH-Holding) group, large-scale domestic engineering, construction and service group implementing projects in the fields of oil refining, chemistry and mineral fertilizers production in the Russian Federation, being also a leader in the promotion and implementation of domestic high-end technologies and products.
